At CoachesCare, we believe that Academics are VERY Important in Developing a Well-Rounded Student Athlete. Once an athlete makes the team, a parent must complete registration and provide the most recent report card.
We acknowledge the varying academic learning levels among students, but we encourage a minimum GPA of 2.5. Athletes with a GPA below this threshold are required to attend a Study Hall that will be held during a weekly practice. That particular Athlete(s) will bring the books, study material, and or homework for those classes that are at a C grade level or below. They will attend 1 Study Hall per week during scheduled practices for the entire season or until their grades are recalculated and they have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
All Parents are Coaches who Care. Parents are Coaches of their kids at home first. CoachesCare adopts the mantra "It Takes a Village." Some parents drop their kids off at practice and return to pick them up when practice is over, which is fine. Some parents stay for the entire practice. CoachesCare is asking for Parents to be an Asset to the Village by adding Value to the CoachesCare Experience. What does that mean, Great Question.
CoachesCare is a different Youth Organization. We are asking for Parents who attend practice to Volunteer their time while at practice to assist any Student Athlete(s) during the Study Hall Session even if it's not your son or daughter. It's not mandatory. It just shows our Student-Athletes that there are Positive Caring Adults other than their parents who are willing to help, if necessary.
